What documents do I need to bring with me?

For the duration of your journey, you (and your children) must carry with you the travel documents and visas stipulated by the legal requirements of the countries of departure, transit and arrival. Luxair can not be held responsible for any possible consequences should you not be in possession of certain documents and/or visas.

The legislation with regards to travel documents and visas is varied and very extensive. In case of any doubt, always consult the embassies or consulates of your transit and destination countries a few weeks before your departure for more information.

Passports and visas for children

• Children must hold their own ID card bearing a photo or their own passport. Please note that the ID and travel documents issued to minors who are Luxemburg nationals under the age of 15 are no longer recognised by the European Union border authorities and non- EU countries. As a result, the authorities ask the parents of children in this category to ensure that their children are in possession of their own passport prior to any foreign travel.
• Children are no longer registered on their parents’ passports. Since the introduction of biometric passports, the passport issuing authorities have followed the recommendations of the International Civil Aviation Organization: “One person, one travel document”. It is therefore recommended that parents with children listed on their own passports issued before this was introduced should also apply for a passport for their children.
