Sale of options - Terms and conditions

 

The following terms and conditions (the Terms and Conditions) shall apply to any Passengers who reserve one of the Options described in these Terms and Conditions.

 

1. Definitions

Additional Baggage Option”: possibility offered to Passengers to purchase an Additional Baggage Option i.e. to carry one or more checked baggages in addition to the baggage allowance included in the ticket purchased by Passenger.

“Fare structure”: options and flexibility solutions offered to Passengers when booking with Luxair. Our fare structure is available at: https://static.luxair.lu/amadeus/documents/fares/fare-structure.en.pdf?_ga=2.256230603.1760572656.1591606025-1124242128.1524752907

Fast Lane Option”: possibility offered to Passengers to purchase a Fast Lane Option i.e. to use a dedicated Lane for checking in at the airports where this service is available. Please check our website to see on which destinations the Fast Lane access is available. 

Lounge Option”: possibility offered to Passengers to reserve an access to the lounge at Luxembourg Airport and partners in other airports. Lounge Option is subject to availability. Please check the page dedicated to lounge access on our website.

 “Luxair”, “We”, “Our” and “Us”: means the company Luxair, Société Luxembourgeoise de Navigation Aérienne S.A., a public limited liability company (société anonyme) incorporated and existing under the laws of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, having its registered office at 25 rue Gabriel Lippmann, L-5365 Munsbach, with postal address at L-2987 Luxembourg, registered with the Luxembourg Trade and Companies Register under number B 4109.

“Option(s)": means the possibility offered to Passengers to reserve the following Option such as described in the present Terms and Conditions: Seat Option, Lounge Option, Sport Equipment Option, Fast Lane Option, Additional Baggage Option.

“Passenger(s)”, “You”, “Your”: means any person who is in possession of a ticket, except members of the crew, who is carried or to be carried by plane.

“Seat Option”:  possibility offered to Passengers to reserve a Seat Option i.e. Standard Seat or Seat with Extra Leg Room under the present Terms and Conditions. The Seat Option is subject to availability.

“Seat with Extra Leg Room”: seat located in the Economy Cabin/Business Cabin:

  • Rows 12ABC DEF for aircraft type 73W (Boeing 737-700);
  • Rows 14ABC DEF and 15ABC DEF for aircraft type 73H (Boeing 737-800);
  • Rows 1AC and 2DF for aircraft type DH4 (De Havilland Q400).

The location and number of these seats depend on the aircraft type. The Seat with extra leg room can be located near to the emergency exit.

“Standard Seat”: possibility offered to Passengers to reserve a seat on the aircraft which is not a Seat with extra leg room. The standard seat selection is subject to availability.

“Sport Equipment Option(s)”: possibility offered to Passengers to purchase a Sport Equipment Option under the present Terms and Conditions.

 

2. Seat Option

This section of the Terms and Conditions applies only to Passengers who reserve a Seat Option.

 

2.1 Reservation of a Seat Option

 

2.1.1 Any Passenger can purchase a Seat Option in advance during the booking process, or can choose a seat at a later stage up to 24 hours before the flight’s scheduled departure.

Any Passenger can select a Seat Option at self-service check in process up to 2 hours before flight’s scheduled departure. Also, starting from 2 hours before flight’s scheduled departure, any Passenger checking-in at a Luxair Kiosk, counter, or self-service check can benefit from a Seat Option free of charge.

The reservation of a Seat Option is subject to availability.

 

2.1.2 A Passenger travelling on a FlyClassic or a FlyPlus ticket, can purchase a Standard Seat by paying an additional fee. Please refer to our fare structure available online at booking process for more details regarding the additional fee. Standard Seat option is free of charge for Passengers travelling on a FlyFlex or FlyBusiness ticket.  

 

2.1.3 A Passenger travelling on a FlyClassic, FlyPlus or FlyFlex can purchase a Seat with Extra Leg Room by paying an additional fee. Please refer to our fare structure available online at booking process for more details regarding the additional fee. Seat with Extra Leg Room is free of charge for Passengers travelling on a FlyBusiness ticket.  

 

2.1.4 Exchange of a Seat Option is possible under the following conditions: a Passenger who purchased a Standard Seat can exchange it for a Seat with Extra Leg Room, subject to availability. The Passenger will have to pay the fare difference, which shall be calculated depending on the fare class of the ticket and his/her Miles & More status. Exchange of a Seat Option is free of charge for Passengers travelling on a FlyBusiness ticket. If a Passenger wants to exchange his/her Seat Option for a less expensive Seat Option, Luxair will not reimburse the fare difference.

2.1.5 Purchase of a Seat Option is not available to Unaccompanied Minor (UM) during self-service check in. Purchase of a Seat Option is however available to accompanied children.

 

2.1.6 Purchase of a Seat Option can be done online using the following payment cards: Mastercard/Eurocard, Visa, American Express.

 

2.1.7 Luxair will make all reasonable efforts to meet any Seat Option requests; however, Luxair cannot guarantee any particular seat. Luxair reserves the right to assign or reassign seats at any time, even after boarding of the aircraft. This may be necessary for operational, safety or security reasons or for reasons of Force Majeure. In such cases, Luxair cannot be held responsible in this case. Passengers who couldn’t benefit from the Seat Option can be reimbursed according to the conditions set out in Article 2.2 of the present Terms and Conditions.

 

2.1.8 The purchase of a Seat Option by a Passenger is personal and cannot be transferred to another Passenger.

 

2.1.9 The purchase of a Seat Option by a Passenger can be transferred to another flight. In this case, the Passenger will have to call Luxair’s call center to do so.

 

2.1.10 In case the Passenger has chosen a Seat Option located near to an emergency exit, he/she must be able to understand and follow the safety instructions given by Luxair crew members in case of emergency procedures. Due to security and operational reasons, seats located near to an emergency cannot be assigned to:

  • Passenger with reduced mobility
  • All infants and children up to and including 11 years of age
  • Unaccompanied Minor
  • Passengers traveling with an animal in the cabin
  • Passengers unable to understand Luxair’s crew members’ safety instructions

 

Refunds of Seat Option

 

2.2.1 No refunds of Seat Option will be issued, unless one of the following conditions is met:

  • The flight for which the Seat Option was purchased was canceled and the Seat Option couldn’t be provided on the new flight.
  • Passengers couldn’t benefit from the Seat Option due operational, safety or security reasons

3. Lounge Option

This section of the Terms and Conditions applies only to Passengers who reserve a Lounge Option.

3.1 Reservation of a Lounge Option

 

3.1.1 Passengers with FlyFlex tickets can purchase a Lounge Option in advance during the booking process, during check-in online or at a later stage up to 24 hours before the flight’s scheduled departure.

Passengers with FlyFlex tickets can also purchase a Lounge Option at Luxair’s ticketing counter at the airport. Purchase of a Lounge Option is not possible at the lounge. The reservation of Lounge Option is subject to availability.

 

3.1.2 A Passenger travelling on a FlyFlex ticket can purchase a Lounge Option by paying an additional fee. Please refer to our fare structure available online at booking process for more details regarding the additional fee. Lounge Option is free of charge for Passengers travelling on a FlyBusiness ticket. 

 

3.1.3 Purchase of a Lounge Option is not available to Unaccompanied Minor (UM). Purchase of a Lounge Option is however available to accompanied children, at the same price conditions as for adults.

 

3.1.4 Purchase of a Lounge Option can be done online using the following payment cards: Mastercard/Eurocard, Visa, American Express.

 

3.1.5 Purchase of a Lounge Option by a Passenger is personal and cannot be transferred to another Passenger.

3.2 Services included in the Lounge Option

The Lounge Option includes the following services, which may be modified, should this be required by the airport’s safety or security regulations or if operational constraints render it necessary:

  • Dining area
  • Workspace
  • Relaxation area
  • Newspapers and magazines
  • WiFi access
  • Showers
  • Toilets

3.3 Refunds of Lounge Option

 

3.3.1 No refunds of Lounge Option will be issued, unless one of the following conditions is met:

  • The flight for which the Lounge Option was purchased was canceled;
  • The lounge is unavailable, closed or overcrowded;
  • The Passenger exchanges his/her original ticket for a FlyBusiness ticket which already includes the Lounge access.

4. Fast Lane Option

This section of the Terms and Conditions applies only to Passengers who reserve a Fast Lane Option.

4.1 Reservation of Fast Lane Option

 

4.1.1 A Passenger travelling on a FlyPlus ticket can purchase a Fast Lane Option by paying an additional fee. Please refer to our fare structure available online at booking process for more details regarding the additional fee. Fast Lane option is free of charge for Passengers travelling on a FlyFlex or FlyBusiness ticket.  

 

4.1.2 A Passenger travelling on a FlyPlus ticket can purchase a Fast Lane Option in advance during the booking process online, during check-in online or at a later stage up to 24 hours before the flight’s scheduled departure.

4.1.3 Purchase of a Fast Lane Option is not available to FlyClassic Passengers.

 

4.1.4 Purchase of an Additional Baggage Option can be done online using the following payment cards: Mastercard/Eurocard, Visa, American Express.

 

4.1.5 The purchase of an Additional Baggage Option by a Passenger is personal and cannot be transferred to another Passenger.

4.2 Refunds of Fast Lane Option

4.2.1 No refunds of a Fast Lane Option will be issued, unless the following conditions is met:

  • The dedicated Fast Lane is not available, closed, in the event of ground handling irregularities.

5. Additional Baggage Option

This section of the Terms and Conditions applies only to Passengers who reserve an Additional Baggage Option.

5.1 Reservation of Additional Baggage Option

 

5.1.1 Any Passenger can purchase an Additional Baggage Option in advance during the booking process online, during check-in online or at a later stage up to 24 hours before the flight’s scheduled departure.

 

5.1.2 The standard baggage allowance with an Economy ticket is one checked baggage of 23kg maximum and with a Business ticket two checked baggage of 32 kg maximum per baggage. A Passenger travelling with an Economy or Business ticket, can purchase an Additional Baggage Option by paying an additional fee. Please refer to our fare structure available online at booking process for more details regarding the additional fee. The additional baggage purchased cannot exceed 23kg for Economy tickets and 32 kg for Business tickets.

 

5.1.3 The total number of additional baggage allowed is subject to aircraft types/availability of space in the aircraft.

 

5.1.4 Purchase of an Additional Baggage Option is not available to:

- Infants under 2 years of age traveling on a parent’s lap;

- Transport of an animal (in the cabin or the hold);

- Transport of sports equipment (special fees apply);

 

5.1.5 Purchase of an Additional Baggage Option can be done online using the following payment cards: Mastercard/Eurocard, Visa, American Express.

 

5.1.6 The purchase of an Additional Baggage Option by a Passenger is personal and cannot be transferred to another Passenger.

 

5.2 Refunds of Additional Baggage Option

 

5.2.1 No refunds of an Additional Baggage Option will be issued, unless one of the following conditions is met:

  • The flight for which the Additional Baggage Option was purchased was canceled and the Passenger was not rebooked on another flight.
  • The additional baggage purchased by Passenger cannot be accepted on the aircraft (i.e. aircraft’s hold is full)

5.2.2 Subject to the present Terms and Conditions, to request a refund, Passenger may contact Luxair via our web Contact form: https://www.luxair.lu/en/contact or Call Center +352 2456-1.

 

6. Sport Equipment Option

This section of the Terms and Conditions applies only to Passengers who reserve a Sport Equipment Option.

6.1 Reservation of a Sport Equipment Option

6.1.1 Any Passenger can purchase a Sport Equipment Option by paying an additional fee.

Please refer to our fare structure available online at booking process for more details regarding the additional fee and to our Special baggage dedicated page on our website regarding the details/exclusions of each sport equipment.

Sport Equipment Option available for Passenger to purchase are the following:

  • Golf equipment
  • Diving
  • Paragliding
  • Ski
  • Fishing 
  • Kite surfboard
  • Bicycle
  • Sporting and hunting firearms and ammunition

 

Each of the above category shall be interpreted as one Sport Equipment Option. If the Passenger wants to transport several sport equipment, he/she must purchase one or more Sport Equipment Options.

Only Passengers travelling on Business can transport golf equipment free of charge.

 

6.1.2 Any Passenger can purchase a Sport Equipment Option in advance during the booking process, or at a later stage up to 24 hours before the flight’s scheduled departure.

 

6.1.3 The reservation and transport of a Sport Equipment Option is subject to availability. Also, Luxair cannot guarantee the space in the hold or the availability of the Sport Equipment Option on all Luxair’s flights. This may be due to operational, safety or security reasons, overweight of the baggage or for reasons of force majeure. In such cases, Luxair cannot be held responsible.

Passengers who couldn’t benefit from the Sport Equipment Option can be reimbursed according to the conditions set out in Article 6.2 of the present Terms and Conditions.

 

6.1.4 Purchase of a Sport Equipment Option can be done online using the following payment cards: Mastercard/Eurocard, Visa, American Express.

 

6.1.5 The purchase of a Sport Equipment Option by a Passenger is personal and cannot be transferred to another Passenger.

 

6.1.6 The purchase of a Sport Equipment Option by a Passenger can be transferred to another flight. In this case, the Passenger will have to call Luxair’s call center to do so.

 

6.1.7 Your Sport Equipment must not weigh more than 23kg (or 32kg in Business class) and the corresponding fee will be charged per leg travel.

 

6.2 Refunds of Sport Equipment Option

6.2.1 No refunds of Sport Equipment Option will be issued, unless one of the following conditions is met:

  • The flight for which the Sport Equipment Option was purchased was canceled and the Sport Equipment couldn’t be accepted on the new flight.
  • Passengers couldn’t benefit from the Sport Equipment Option due operational, safety or security reasons or overweight of the baggage

7. Miscellaneous

7.1 Luxair reserves the right to modify and otherwise change these Terms and Conditions at any time at its sole discretion.

7.2 These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire and only understanding between the parties, and replace any prior understandings or agreements (whether oral or written) relating to the subject matter hereof.

7.3 The failure of Luxair to exercise any of its rights shall not be construed as a waiver or relinquishment of the future performance of any of its rights, and your obligations with respect to such future performance shall continue in full force and effect.

7.4 If any clause contained in these Terms and Conditions becomes void, unenforceable or prohibited in any jurisdiction, this will not affect the validity and enforceability of the other clauses in these Terms and Conditions, or of these same clauses in other jurisdictions. In such cases, Luxair and you agree to replace the clause that is void, unenforceable or prohibited with a valid, enforceable clause in the spirit of the original.

7.5. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of Luxembourg. To the extent permitted by law, you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Luxembourg, for settlement of any dispute which might arise as a result of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions.

7.6 These Terms and Conditions shall be read in conjunction with our General Conditions of Carriage, Security and Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
