TRAVELING TO LUXEMBOURG 

WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW?

GENERAL INFORMATION 

 

Any passenger from the EU, the Schengen area, and the following third countries: Australia/Canada/Chile/China/Jordan/Kuwait/New Zealand/Qatar/Rwanda/Saudia Arabia/Singapour/Thailand/South Korea/Ukraine/ Uruguay/Hong Kong/Macau/Taiwan, aged 12 and 2 months or over, wishing to travel by air to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg must present at boarding either:
 
1.  A vaccination certificate attesting a complete vaccination schedule* carried out with a vaccine having obtained an official authorization by the European Medicines Agency or a NHS certficate from the UK attesting a complete vaccination scheme, namely the vaccines of the companies AstraZeneca, BioNTech / Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson and Moderna, established by a public or medical authority of a Member State of the European Union, of the Schengen Area or from the following countries: Albania/Andorra/Faroe Islands/Israel/Monaco/Panama/North Macedonia/San Marino/Turkey/Ukraine/Vatican/USA. 
* a) this schedule is complete upon administration of the second dose for vaccines with multiple doses, and 14 days after the administration for vaccines with a single dose. b) For people who have recovered from SARS-CoV2 and who have been vaccinated within 180 days after the first positive result of a test, the vaccination schedule is complete 14 days after the administration of the first dose regardless of the vaccine administered.
2. A COVID19 recovery certificate established by an authority of a Member State of the European Union or of a Member State of the Schengen Area attesting to a recent SARS-CoV-2  infection within 6 months and who have completed the applicable isolation period in the respective country with disappearance of all symptoms of infection.
3. A negative result (on paper or electronic document) of a nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT) for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 viral RNA test (PCR, TMA or LAMP methods) carried out less than 72 hours before the flight or a viral antigen test (rapid test) carried out less than 48 hours before the flight by a medical analysis laboratory or any other authorized testing unit for this purpose. The negative result of the test must be presented, if necessary, accompanied by a translation, in one of the administrative languages of Luxembourg (Luxembourgish, French, German) or in English, Italian, Spanish or Portuguese.

The following persons are exempted from these measures:

- People on duty employed in the transport sector and passengers in transit at the airport.
- Persons traveling by air for less than 72 hours from the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to a country which is a member of the Schengen area or the European Union, and provided that they have not left the Schengen area or the territory of the EU Member States during this period. These persons must present their outbound flight tickets at check-in.

 

For LuxairTours package clients (flight+hotel), LuxairTours organizes and covers the antigen test at destination (Metropolis and all package holidays to France, Italy Germany and Austria are excluded from this offer)* for passengers who have booked a package holiday with a return flight until 31 March 2022 (last return flight). This test is required for all persons aged 12 or more when they fly back to Luxembourg. Our tour guide will contact the client to arrange an appointment at the hotel or in a laboratory. In case of quarantine, LuxairTours will cover the accommodation costs and organize the return flight on the next Luxair flight. This offer will stop before 31st March if tests are no longer required to enter Luxembourg. More info

 

For Luxair and LuxairTours flight only clients, we will allow you to modify your flight without change fees in case of a positive test result and a subsequent quarantine according to the rules set by the local authorities.
