Day 1: Renaissance treasures, iconic landmarks, and Florentine flavors
Begin your first day in the heart of Florence at Piazza del Duomo, home to the magnificent Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. Admire Brunelleschi’s iconic dome, Giotto’s Bell Tower, and the Baptistery’s bronze doors. Climb to the top of the dome or tower for sweeping views over the city’s red rooftops.
Continue to the Galleria dell’Accademia to see Michelangelo’s David, one of the world’s most celebrated sculptures. Then wander toward Piazza della Signoria, an open-air museum filled with statues and explore the impressive Palazzo Vecchio.
For lunch, stop at a traditional trattoria to sample Florentine specialties such as bistecca alla fiorentina, fresh pasta with truffle, or ribollita, paired with a glass of Chianti wine.
In the afternoon, visit the renowned Uffizi Gallery, home to masterpieces by Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, and Raphael. Afterward, stroll across the historic Ponte Vecchio, lined with charming jewelry shops.
As evening approaches, head to Piazzale Michelangelo for a panoramic sunset view over Florence. End your night in the Oltrarno district, enjoying gelato or dinner in one of its cozy, artisan-filled streets.
Day 2: Tuscan countryside, medieval towns, and vineyard views
Begin your second day with an escape into Tuscany’s rolling countryside, just beyond Florence. Join a guided tour or rent a car to explore picturesque landscapes of olive groves, vineyards, and cypress-lined roads.
Visit Chianti, famous for its wine estates and charming villages. Stop at a local winery for a tasting of Chianti Classico and learn about traditional winemaking techniques. Continue to Siena, a stunning medieval city known for its shell-shaped Piazza del Campo and magnificent cathedral. Wander through its narrow streets and soak up the authentic Tuscan atmosphere.
Return to Florence in the evening and enjoy a relaxed dinner featuring Tuscan specialties such as pappardelle al cinghiale (wild boar pasta) or pecorino cheese with local honey. Finish with cantucci biscuits dipped in Vin Santo for a true Tuscan ending.
