How do you book an Extra Seat Blocker? Easy.

1. If you are eligible*, you will receive an invitation

You will usually receive the Extra Seat Blocker invitation via email in about 24 hours before your check-in.

2. Reserve your preferred extra seat

Using the link provided on the email, choose the seat you want to block on our seat map.

3. Purchase your seat

Pay online and instantly update your ticket.

After that, just board and enjoy your extra space and comfort in Economy Class.

    You are eligible to purchase Extra Seat Blocker if:

    • You fly on a Luxair-operated flight (Luxair & Luxair Tours)
    • You have a confirmed ticket document number that starts with 149 (LG)
    • All passengers on the same reservation must sit together and the blocked seats will be shared between these travellers.
    • Passengers wishing to split their booking in order to buy a separate seat blocker should contact Luxair directly before making the purchase (Tel. +352 2456-1)

     

    You are not eligible for Extra Seat Blocker if:

    • You fly as part of a group booking
    • You are identified as a customer with a special service booking (i.e. cabin baggage, pet in the cabin or unaccompanied minor)

    You can purchase the Extra Seat Blocker 24 hours up to 2 hours before departure

     

    HOW:

    • via the invitation email sent to your email address or 
    • via the LUXAIR WEB CHECK-IN or

    YES, you will receive a confirmation with the following details:

     

    • An email confirming the traveller's purchase will be sent upon successful purchase of the Extra Seat Blocker
    • The email sender name is smartupgrade@luxair.lu
    • The email will contain a confirmation message, flight information, passenger seat assignment, the extra seat number(s) and the amount paid
    • The email is considered as a valid proof of purchase

    Due to special conditions, either operational or other constraints, which prevent passengers from getting a reserved extra seat on the flight, an email will automatically be sent to confirm the cancellation for the extra seat reservation.

     

    This email will acknowledge that the extra seat blocker cannot be offered on the flight and confirm the amount refunded to the customer's credit card.

    • Depending on the destination and flight time, the fee for Extra Seat Blocker are subject to change and vary
    • Discount fees may apply

     

  •  

    • If you are travelling alone you can purchase 1 seat on the Q400 aircraft or purchase up to 2 seats on the 737/738 aircraft
    • If you are traveling as 2 people on a 737/738 aircraft, you may block 1 seat next to you to secure your personal comfort

    • NO, the extra seat can only be blocked in the same row next to you

     

  •  

    • NO, Extra Seat Blocker is only available on flights operated by Luxair airlines.

     

  •  

    • NO, the blocked seats are not indicated on your Boarding Pass. This seat(s) is blocked in our system and other customers cannot select the seat you have reserved.

     

  •  

    • YES, our cabin crew will help you to optimise the Extra Seat Blocker on-board experience.  Special headrests are dressed to the blocked seat.

     

  •  

    • Once you received the confirmation mail for your purchase, no further action is required.
    • But you will still have to finalize the online check-in flow on the webpage or our mobile app.
